This is a question to ponder about. Your sincere answer to this question will bring a great shift in your life.
I remember reading a book years ago about what it takes to build a legacy that lasts beyond your years.
The author suggested thinking about going to your own funeral and imagining what you want people to say about you. Then he said, “Go and live your life that way.”

Well, I suppose that’s better than nothing! But the truth is, it doesn’t really matter what other people say about you when you die. The only opinion that matters is God’s.
WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT YOU WILL BE YOUR LASTING LEGACY – NOT JUST FOR 50 YEARS OR 500 YEARS, BUT FOR ETERNITY!
So what do you want God to say about you on the day you die? Jesus says it should be this: “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” (Matthew 25:21 NIV).
How do you leave that kind of legacy? You’ve got to do what Jesus did. Nobody created a greater legacy in life than Jesus Christ.
He tells us about his legacy in Mark 10:45, “I did not come to earth to be served, but to serve, and to give my life as a ransom for many.”
You leave a lasting legacy by serving and by giving. When you love God, you serve and you give to God. When you love other people, you serve and you give to others.
God calls us to a life of service and generosity. I love The Message paraphrase of Deuteronomy 15:10, “Give freely and spontaneously. Don’t have a stingy heart.” That describes a life of giving to others, a life that leaves a lasting legacy.
One way you can build on your legacy of generosity is by helping to reach people who still haven’t heard about the heavenly hope that can only be found in Jesus.
